The majority of work is carried out in our workshop, other locations include Whitianga Marina and onsite mobile jobs in surrounding towns, beaches, and islands as required. Training: Mercury experience and any certified training will be a major advantage, but if you have experience in servicing another brand that is great too, we provide our technicians with free ongoing training through Mercury University as well as courses at Mercury NZ in Auckland. Summary of tasks: -Servicing and repair of Two- and Four-stroke Outboard engines as well as some Diesel and Petrol Sterndrives -Trouble shooting, fault diagnosis, implementing computerised diagnostic systems such as Mercury CDS and G3 -New engine fit-outs. -Electronics fit-outs. -A small amount of workshop administration including job cards, and engine inspection reports. -Sea trials and testing of engines. Personal skills and attitude: - A clean and tidy worker who likes to keep the workplace the same way -Having a methodical and disciplined approach to work- according to manufacturer procedures and guidelines -Being passionate and confident in working with outboard and sterndrive units -Communicating effectively and professionally w ith the team and customers. -The ability to think out of the box when troubleshooting and a good understanding of diagnostic equipment and tools. -Experience in repairs and maintenance of Stern-drive petrol/ diesel products, or outboard engines would be ideal -Must have a positive attitude and be a team player. -Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and attend workshops and training cou rses provided. This warranty covers the following: 1. Mechanical Defects - This warranty covers significant mechanical defects that may arise within 90 days from the date of purchase. The coverage includes issues related to the boat's engine, transmission, and other critical mechanical components. 2. Repair or Replacement - If a defect covered by this warranty is found within the 90-day period, Mercury Bay Marine will, at its discretion, repair the defective part(s) or replace them at no cost to the buyer. Exclusions This warranty does not cover the following: Normal Wear and Tear - Any issues arising from the normal wear and tear of the boat or its components are not covered under this warranty. Misuse or Damage - Damage caused by misuse, improper operation, neglect, accidents, or modifications to the boat is excluded from coverage. Consumable Parts - Parts that are subject to regular maintenance and replacement, such as filters, belts, hoses, and batteries, are not covered. Cosmetic Issues - Cosmetic defects such as scratches, dents, or fading paint, are not included in this warranty. Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) In addition to this warranty, all secondhand boats purchased from Mercury Bay Marine are covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). Under the CGA, you are guaranteed that the boat will: - Be of acceptable quality. - Be fit for the purpose for which it was sold. - Match the description provided by the dealer. Warranty Limitations This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser of the boat. The warranty does not cover boats used for commercial purposes unless explicitly stated in the purchase agreement. Making a Claim To make a claim under this warranty, please contact Mercury Bay Marine as soon as a defect is discovered. You may be required to bring the boat to our facility for inspection. We will assess the issue and determine whether it is covered under this warranty.
