Location: Come and join our team, as a recreational haven for fishing diving, bush-walking, boating, surfing, and kayaking the Coromandel has so much to offer. The majority of work is carried out in our workshop, other locations include Whitianga Marina and onsite mobile jobs in surrounding towns, beaches, and islands as required. Training: Mercury experience and any certified training will be a major advantage, but if you have experience in servicing another brand that is great too, we provide our technicians with free ongoing training through Mercury University as well as courses at Mercury NZ in Auckland. Summary of tasks: -Servicing and repair of Two- and Four-stroke Outboard engines as well as some Diesel and Petrol Sterndrives -Trouble shooting, fault diagnosis, implementing computerised diagnostic systems such as Mercury CDS and G3 -New engine fit-outs. -Electronics fit-outs. -A small amount of workshop administration including job cards, and engine inspection reports. -Sea trials and testing of engines. Personal skills and attitude: - A clean and tidy worker who likes to keep the workplace the same way -Having a methodical and disciplined approach to work- according to manufacturer procedures and guidelines -Being passionate and confident in working with outboard and sterndrive units -Communicating effectively and professionally w ith the team and customers. -The ability to think out of the box when troubleshooting and a good understanding of diagnostic equipment and tools. -Experience in repairs and maintenance of Stern-drive petrol/ diesel products, or outboard engines would be ideal -Must have a positive attitude and be a team player. -Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and attend workshops and training cou rses provided.
