Diesel Marine Mechanic
-Must be trade certified Marine or automotive mechanic
-Must have experience in repairs and maintenance of Stern-drive petrol/ diesel products, and outboard engines.
-Mercury experience and certified training is a major advantage
-Must be competent in troubleshooting and using diagnostic equipment and tools.
Summary of tasks:
-Install, service and repair diesel and petrol engines as well as some two- and Four-stroke Outboard engines
-Troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, implementing computerised diagnostic systems such as Mercury CDS and G3
-New engine fit-outs.
-High level of customer service, both on the phone and face-to-face.
-A small amount of workshop administration including job cards, engine inspection reports.
-Sea trials and testing of engines.
-The majority of work to be carried out in our workshop, other locations include Whitianga Marina and onsite mobile jobs in surrounding towns, beaches, and islands as required.
